Alien Abduction Bash 2012 tank,,,its on!!!

its begun,,,sheetmetals cut out,,,startin to take shape,,,be there an WIN this tank!!!.

$5 gas tank....

I bought this tank at a flea market for $5,,,big ugly sob,,had about 6 coats of somekinda paint job on it an looked like someone had try to kill it with a hachet...

so,, needin more fuel capacity than my 1.5 gal prizm,, i proceeded to remove all the crap paint, sand out all the gouges best i could, an remove about 1.5" outta the center

welded back up,,redid the tunnel, mounts,,added fuel outlet an bungs for a sight gauge... then the fun began,,i added a rib to it ,,.25 round stock ,  heated,tack,bend to shape,tack,repeatrepeatrepeat...most ive seen done were just tacked then bondo applied to make the shape,,i welded this one all the way around,,ground,sanded to shape,,after alotta fire an fury ..

WALLAAA!!   painted, an now resideing on my bike..

this one came in on a trade deal of sorts,,,she was already hardtailed by someone back when,,actually,,pretty well done compaired to some ive seen.   im in the process of fittin the flat fender, ive hand made a sissy bar, taillight/tag bracket an mount, battery tray down in between the rails an one of my handmade coffin tanks...

Hardtail sections

i do build hardtail sections for jap bikes ,,mostly XS,CB,KZ, etc.. these are fab an fitted to the said donor in my jig,,i dont offer a weldon section i can just send to you,,,reason being,,theres so many variables in these frames,,gettin one jigged up to fit a assembly line frame would be near impossible,,,
theres all kinds of weldons online avail for purchase,, yes theyre a little cheaper,,but what u dont get is fit,alignment,craftsmanship youll get with a handmade section..ive seen um over an over,,people having bought a section online,,,wheel/spacers be a mile off,,motor wont go back in ,, on an on..
what i do is build your frame section to be as simple an painless as possible for you when you reassemble your bike...
